With the KAMAG ePrecisionMover 101 (ePM 101), TII KAMAG is launching the next generation of its electric swap body transporter. The vehicle combines the advantages of the new vehicle generation 101 with a powerful electric drive system, marking an important step forward in the development of emission-free logistics solutions.
“With the KAMAG ePM 101, we are consistently transferring the strengths of our new vehicle generation 101 to electric drive technology. Our customers benefit from the familiar precision and ergonomics, combined with the advantages of locally emission-free operation,” says Godehard Eidenhammer, Head of Sales Logistics Vehicles. The KAMAG PM series was specifically developed for the precise handling of swap bodies in yards with high throughput rates. The 101 generation introduces a wide range of further enhancements to the vehicle concept. As the electric variant of this new generation, the ePM 101 enables emission-free operation in daily use while simultaneously reducing operating costs. Thanks to its precise drive control, the vehicle delivers dynamic driving performance, high efficiency and low noise levels. At the same time, electrification supports companies in achieving their sustainability targets and sustainably improving the CO₂ balance of internal plant transport operations.
Ergonomics and user-friendliness in focus
TII KAMAG places particular emphasis on ergonomics and operator comfort. The ePM 101 cab follows the manufacturer’s design and operating concept developed specifically for the 101 generation, offering a spacious interior and a clearly arranged control panel with digital display. All controls are logically positioned and intuitive to use. An improved seating and pedal position, together with optimised all-round visibility, ensures a comfortable and safe working environment, even during long shifts. This is complemented by an extensive range of safety features, including lighting in accordance with ECE regulations, electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors, heated wide-angle and rear-view mirrors, and improved visibility of the swap body support legs. The low-entry design facilitates frequent access and exit, while new sun blinds provide reliable protection against glare and sunlight.
Efficient electric drive with advanced energy management
The KAMAG ePM 101 combines a powerful electromechanical drive system with lithium-ion batteries and intelligent thermal management, ensuring consistently high performance even under extreme temperature conditions. The integrated system for cab and high-voltage batteries enables efficient climate control, including stationary air conditioning for pre-conditioning. This protects the battery cells, extends their service life and shortens charging times. Depending on the operating profile, the ePM 101 can be recharged at up to 100 kW during short downtimes, ensuring availability even in multi-shift operations. Thanks to its recuperation capability, energy is recovered during braking, reducing operating costs and increasing range. A modern braking system in line with European commercial vehicle standards further supports accident prevention.
Sustainability and cost-efficiency combined
In addition to locally emission-free operation, the KAMAG ePM 101 impresses with low maintenance and operating costs. The elimination of conventional wear components such as clutch or gearbox significantly reduces maintenance requirements. The modular design also facilitates service access and minimises downtime. With the KAMAG Connect telematics system, operators gain access to vehicle-relevant data, can monitor conditions, carry out remote diagnostics and receive targeted service support. The ePM 101 thus meets the key requirements of modern logistics companies: it combines high operational efficiency with sustainable value creation and, thanks to its robust design, is ideally suited for 24/7 use in plant logistics and distribution centres.
