In the Indian city of Bawal (near Delhi), production is running at full capacity one year after the official opening - around 200 employees of TII India produce vehicles under the TIIGER brand name designed for heavy-duty transport operations. The first three TIIGER Extender semi-trailers were delivered to Darshan Roadlines Pvt.Ltd. (DRPL) and have been used very successfully from day one. DRPL has already ordered further vehicles. TII India is a subsidiary of the German TII Group which is global leader in the production of leads the world in the production of heavy-load industrial vehicles.
The TIIGER Extender, a robust and maintenance-friendly telescopic semi-trailer (triple telescoping capability), is an excellent choice for the transport of bulky and long loads, e.g. wind turbine blades and bridge sections. "One year after our opening ceremony with representatives from politics and the Indian heavy transport industry, we can already speak of a success story: the demand for our vehicles is very high and production is running at full capacity," said Dr. Jochen Landes, Managing Director of TII India. "India is a growth market not least because of the extensive investment in transport and energy infrastructure that is being made. The market requires vehicles that can safely and reliably transport, for example, components for wind turbines or generators. At the same time, existing as well as newly-built roads are subjected to far less wear and tear which means our pendulum axle technology featured in our TIIGER Heavy Duty product range is just the right thing”, added Landes. The portfolio includes various semi-trailers (with and without telescoping) along with the TIIGER Heavy Duty product line, a modular platform trailer for all heavier load assignments.
Mr. Bharat Gandhi , founder and co-owner of Darshan Roadlines emphasized during the vehicle handover: "Darshan Roadlines stands for safety, reliability and long-term customer relationships. The TII Group fits in perfectly with us on this point and the clear commitment of the company to the Indian market was the key factor together with the technical advantages in our decision to purchase the vehicles”.
Confirmation with respect to this commitment to the Indian growth market was given to owner-family members of the TII Group by Baden-Württemberg's State Premier, Winfried Kretschmann who emphasized the importance of the Indian market for German companies during his delegation visit to India. The focus of the official visit, which was also attended by Susanne Rettenmaier (Managing Director TII GmbH) and Fabian Weingart (Director TII India), was on "Innovative Technologies - Solutions for Engineering and Automotive Production". "It is here that Baden-Württemberg's well-established strengths and innovativeness lie”, according to Kretschmann. The German TII Group has its headquarters in the most innovative German state Baden Württemberg.
